Agriculture at Queen City Ex

We're going back to our roots this year by introducing a strong agricultural presence at this year's Queen City Ex!

Fairgoers can expect to see agriculture incorporated into three main elements:

1. Agribition at Queen City Ex

For the first time ever, fairgoers can experience the fun of Agribition at the Queen City Ex. "Agribition at Queen City Ex" features four days of interactive agricultural fun in the Brandt Centre:

  • Wednesday, July 31: Horse Power (1 - 3:30 p.m.)
    • Travel back in time with CWA and witness true horsepower. Featuring CWA’s chore team demonstration, teams of horses and their drivers will showcase their day-to-day duties on the ranch and/or farm. Horses are guided through a course designed to test the skills of the horses and drivers at work in their element.
  • Thursday, August 1: Wild and Wooly (1 - 3:30 p.m.)
    • Get up close and personal with the fuzziest farm animals around! A day of activities with farm animals that are raised for their fibre and fleece!
    • Feeling wild? CWA’s Wild Wool Ride is the event for you, where two heats of 20 kids will have a chance to put their sheep riding skills to the test.
    • Don’t miss the Alpaca obstacle course! While primarily used for their fibre, alpacas are also amazing pack animals. Kids will have a chance to lead these amazing animals through an obstacle course.
  • Friday, August 2: Agri-Education (1 - 3:30 p.m.)
    • Everything you ever wanted to know about modern agriculture and rodeo all in one! Bring your curiosity and questions to the Lower Level Brandt Centre to learn about everything from raising livestock to being a star in the rodeo arena!
  • Saturday, August 3: Wild West (12:30 - 3:30 p.m.)
    • It wouldn’t be an Agribition event without some of the most exciting action on four hooves! Catch the Mounted Shooting competition, a high-speed, spectator sport guaranteed to entertain people of all ages! Watch a cowboy transform a wild horse to a willing partner, accepting a saddle and rider for the first time. This is a hugely entertaining and information filled event.

2. The Farm at Queen City Ex

Sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and supported by the Saskatchewan Association of Agricultural Societies and Exhibitions, The Queen City Ex s delighted to bring The Farm back for another year.
