    Big Wreck was founded by Ian Thornley and Brian Doherty, David Henning and Forrest Williams in 1994. Over the next decade their success grew their popularity into one of Canada’s most successful touring and recording artists. In 2003 the group disbanded, and Ian Thornley pursued a solo career with his own band Thornley. In 2010 they reunited playing both Big Wreck and Thornley songs. In 2012, under the name Big Wreck, the band released their third studio album, Albatross followed by Ghosts in 2014, Grace Street in 2017, and ...But For the Sun in 2019. Founding member, Brian Doherty, died of lung cancer on June 5, 2019, at age 51. The band performed their previously scheduled shows as a trio, with Chris Caddell joining eventually joining their ranks. In 2021, Big Wreck announced their upcoming EP Big Wreck 7.1 which released on November 19th, 2021. So far, they have released the singles "Middle of Nowhere," "Ought to Be," and "Bombs Away."
