2019-124-I Human Resource Consultant

Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Manager, People & Culture, our Human Resource Consultants are professionals responsible for providing consultative and advisory HR support to all leaders on workforce planning, talent acquisition and talent management, employee relations matters, learning and development, on-boarding and human resource policies and procedures.  Using sound human resources best practice/knowledge, this position will proactively source and maintain candidate pipelines, manage staffing files, support organization development initiatives to retain and advance employees and will support day-to-day human resources functions by conducting research, analyzing data and preparing reports, providing recommendations as required. This position will also participate on projects, review policies, implement and maintain human resource programs to enhance the overall effectiveness of human resources processes and programs at REAL.
 

Education and Experience:

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required; a combination of related training, education and experience may be considered.
  • A CHRP designation considered an asset.

Work Experience

  • Prior experience with talent acquisition, leave management, and employee relations preferred
  • Experience providing consultative advice to managers; conducting research, reporting and implementing new initiatives.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Experience in a customer service, tourism/hospitality, sporting, events and entertainment industries is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Employment Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of best practices and trends relating to workforce planning, sourcing/talent acquisition and learning and development.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the proven ability to lead and motivate team members.
  • Proven ability to deal tactfully and decisively with sensitive client issues while maintaining the highest levels of customer service and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and effectively handle changing priorities.
  • Proven decision-making and analytical skills for budget development along with strong financial acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Computer proficiency required including advanced Excel, Word & Outlook.

Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Executive Assistant, Corporate Office, the Corporate Office Administrator is primarily responsible for providing front office reception duties which include administrative duties and providing administrative support to the Executive Assistant, Corporate Office and other departments as necessary.  Responsible for booking meeting rooms inside the Administration Office for management and staff, composition of general correspondence and development of PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets.  This position will also process approved travel and corporate expense reports.  Front office duties include  fielding incoming phone calls, directing clients, dealing with the public and handling inquiries, processing incoming and outgoing mail, courier pickups and deliveries and sorting of incoming faxes.  The position maintains the Administrative Building supply room, ensuring appropriate inventory of supplies, ensuring that all office equipment is in working order and overseeing the maintenance and service of all copiers.  Other administrative duties including, but not limited to: typing, filing, photocopying, faxing, mailing, scanning and data entry.

Candidates will be assessed on the following information:

Education and Experience:

  • Grade Twelve (12) and Office Education Diploma/Certificate or an acceptable combination of related training and experience.
  • Experience in delivering corporate front office customer service.
  • Experience with answering multi-line phone systems, processing (via web) office supply orders, ordering couriers, invoicing, processing travel requests.
  • Experience using EventPro software reporting systems an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of administrative processes and protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to design, format and/or modify complex documents accurately and in a timely manner using intermediate to advanced features of computer software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to operate a wide variety of office equipment.

Other Information:

  • Shift to be 2 days/week; primarily Tues/Thurs 8am to 4:30pm, however the days of the week and start/stop times may fluctuate with operational need.  Shift will also provide coverage for vacation and unexpected absences
