Custodians have the responsibility of maintaining the cleanliness of all facilities at REAL. support all facilities by ensuring they are cleaned by REAL’s standards to provide a healthy and safe environment for all guests. These roles will be required to maintain the interior and exterior of the buildings and their surrounding grounds which includes following cleaning processes and procedures outlined for each area or facility.

Reporting to the Director Food & Beverage, the Manager, Food & Beverage Retail manages the operations of all concessions, bars, commissary, and vendor relationships for all Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) events as well as the daily operations of several on-site franchises including Tim Horton’s and Western Pizza.   As a member of REAL’s Management team, the Manager, Food & Beverage Retail participates in the development of the strategic planning process, as well as develops, and implements the food and beverage business plan to achieve set goals. This position will provide leadership and direction to multiple business unit teams of over 100+ employees who are responsible for the ordering, inventory, sales & serving of all alcohol, commissary & concession items. The Manager, Food and Beverage Retail will also manage vendor agreements, work closely with SLGA and SHA for necessary permits and licenses, and oversee the business unit operations to ensure proper cash management controls are followed by staff members, oversight of the Point of Sale systems, ensuring adherence to liquor regulations, safe food and beverage service, and will also address escalated service delivery situations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Leads, oversees and manages Food & Beverage Retail strategies and services to support event, entertainment and recreational requirements as follows:

  • Develops and maintains the procedures, standards and training programs to ensure staff can perform their jobs efficiently, effectively and safely.  Ensuring staff are following policy and procedures to make sure that quality standards are maintained at all times.
  • Managing the operations of all concessions, bars, commissary, suite & club seating, Tim Hortons, Western Pizza and all other retail food and beverage services during events on campus including the Stadium,
  • Create, implement and oversee the purchasing, stocking and inventory control of all food and alcohol related products used for concessions and bars.
  • Oversee franchise and vendor agreements.
  • Working with SLGA & Saskatchewan Health Authority to apply for, maintain & follow proper food & liquor licenses.
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate supplier arrangements for food and beverage products.
  • Maintaining and updating the F&B Retail systems and processes, to ensure efficiency, accurate stocking and inventory control etc.
  • Working closely with customer service groups to identify F&B requirements and service delivery standards; Collaborate with Chef on the development of menus and pricing.

WHAT IT TAKES

  • Performs heavy cleaning duties including, but not limited to cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
  • Ensures janitorial rooms are clean and stocked at the end of each shift
  • Performs other duties on an as and when required basis.

  • Greet and direct guests upon arrival, answer guest questions and remaining polished and poised in all guest interactions.
  • Scanning tickets and checking for proper credentials when patrons enter the building.
  • Assist customers to their seats by giving verbal directions and identifying the general area where the customers’ seats are located.
  • Watching for seating problems in assigned area and move to assist the customers.

The Surveillance Officer provides 24-7 campus surveillance monitoring and emergency response services and is responsible for monitoring activities of the Regina Exhibition Association Limited campus to ensure compliance with provincial laws, municipal bylaws and internal policies and procedures.  The Surveillance Officer is accountable to identify breaches of REAL policies and procedures, criminal activities, viewing and reviewing video surveillance, analyzing information, making decisions and taking appropriate action including escalation of immediate breaches and/or emergency response to internal leadership and/or external police/fire/EMS services.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Day-to-day management of Surveillance Operations to ensure 24-7 monitoring and compliance of REAL campus activities providing security and to safeguard customers, staff, and assets by:
    • Maintain continuous surveillance of all areas and property; and identify, record, document and report unusual or suspicious activity.
    • Coordinate responses to inquiries and needs for assistance via 24/7 Security Operations Centre phoneline.  
    • Notify the appropriate personnel in an emergency or escalated security incident which may include initiating alarms, calling emergency service personnel, dispatching security personnel on shift, and notification to appropriate leadership team member(s).
    • Operate surveillance equipment and ensure accurate video documentation.
    • Maintain detailed and accurate logs; assist or lead investigations.
    • Provide timely and accurate reports/information to Security Management of all life safety events, access control, video surveillance and dispatch security operators.
    • Comply with confidentiality regulations regarding all surveillance information including camera coverage, investigations, and proprietary material.
  • Oversees the day-to-day shift operations and activities, administrative functions, and administrative support of the Security Operations Centre.
  • Lead and develop strong teams to carry out business unit strategies.
  • Serves as a member of REAL’s Management Team.

The League Coordinator will assist in developing and implementing the Adult Hockey League, Youth Spring Hockey League, and new Recreational Sports Leagues.  Once the leagues have been developed, the League Coordinator will coordinate and perform all administrative and clerical tasks necessary for the operation of the league. As the League Coordinator, you will participate in the planning and execution of special events, such as tournaments and championships.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist with preparation of team playing schedules and tournament draws.
  • Responsible for the collection of all team/player registrations and fees in accordance with established payment deadlines and policies.
  • Responsible for daily administration of league operations including the printing of game sheets, interpretation of the league rulebook, updating standings and statistics, data base entry, providing customer service to the teams, grievance procedures and other administrative issues which may arise in the performance of their duties.
  • Liaison from management to the team reps and players.
  • Maintain timely and accurate league records.
  • Schedule and assist in the recruiting and training of support personnel including Timekeepers & Referees.
  • Assists with the assessment, communication, and enforcement of team and player suspensions.

The Commissary Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of Commissary Clerks and Commissary Leads to ensure daily tasks are completed as well as receiving and inspecting all incoming materials and reconciling with purchase orders; processing and distributing documentation with purchase orders; reporting, documenting, and tracking damages and discrepancies on orders received. Shipping canceled and damaged items back to vendors as appropriate. Handling and documenting storage and transportation of hazardous materials. Maintaining the stock room, recording area and stores area in a neat and orderly manner. Answering questions regarding procedures and resolving discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs, and surplus property. Unloading materials from trucks by hand or with hand operated or motorized equipment. Inspecting items, as to quality and quantity, against freight documents.  As well as counting, weighing, and measuring goods received or issued.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

  1. Receiving and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders; processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders; reports, documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received by:
  • Ships canceled and damaged items back to vendors as appropriate.
  • Handles and documents storage and transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Maintains the stock room, records area, and stores area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Answers questions regarding procedures and resolves discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs, and surplus property.
  • Unloads materials from trucks by hand or with hand operated or motorized equipment.
  • Inspects items, as to quality and quantity, against freight documents.
  • Counts, weighs, and measures goods received or issued.
  • Unpacks incoming goods and wraps and packs outgoing goods.
  • Stocks materials according to a prescribed inventory system.
  • May enter data and edit stock orders in a computerized inventory system, if available.
  • Operates hand equipment such as hand trucks and dollies to transport stock.
  • Operate a motor vehicle, forklift, or other material handling equipment to facilitate the movement of materials.
  • Participates in physical inventories by counting stock.
  • Loads media into equipment.
  • Monitors equipment and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Performs routine maintenance and makes minor repairs.
  • Maintains service records.
  • Keeping a record and maintaining cycle counts of the entire inventory in the store.
  • Receiving and verifying the inventory with the purchase order listings.
  • Reporting loss, damage and any such discrepancies to the supervising authorities.
  • Sorting all goods and stacking them appropriately.
  • Assisting in the labeling, tagging, and packaging of the goods.
  • Maintaining proper documentation processed for the receipt of the good and supplies.
  • Ensuring the timely dispatch of the goods to the appropriate destinations.
  • Coordinating and synchronizing work functions with the vendors, suppliers, and other internal departments of the establishment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and order in the workplace and complying with all safety norms while carrying out work functions.
  • Understand of storage safety norms and other documentation processes.
  • Write short notes eg; Notations on goods documentation
  • Deal with contingencies, stock not available, broken, or damaged stock, documentation missing, quality control, issues, bio security issues
  1. Other duties as requested.

Reporting to the Manager, Program Operations, the Arena Operator is responsible for operating machinery on a daily basis to ensure that the playing ice surfaces meet or exceed a high standard for all user groups (e.g. guests, customers and the public). The Arena Operator supports the recreational facilities by ensuring that all facility areas are clean, healthy and are considered safe environments for all. Other functions include the cleaning and maintenance of the ice surface; assisting with the arena building; and the set-up and take down for public and private functions.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

  1. Conduct thorough and proper ice making and maintenance by:
    • Preparing the arena for ice installation and making ice, which includes building, whitening and sealing ice, installing and sealing ice markings as per handbook standards.
    • Conducting regular ice thickness checks, flooding the ice, performing surface maintenance and monitoring surface ice temperatures.
    • Tracking and maintaining ice equipment and supplies.
    • Performing regular maintenance checks on ice-making equipment.
    • Maintaining the ice resurfacer, ice edger, and servicing ice maintenance equipment operating and maintaining the Zamboni.
    • Assisting in removal and installation of ice surface; converting play surface areas for dry-floor events.

 

  1. As a member of REAL’s Site and Facilities team, this position is responsible for maintaining arena facilities for cleanliness by:
    • Ensuring the maintenance of acceptable standards for cleanliness according to departments service standards/goals and objectives.
    • Inspecting arena boards, cleaning glass and making emergency and general repairs that are required.
    • Inspecting the glass, netting, and ensuring proper documentation of repairs.

Reporting to the Manager, Grounds and Conversions, this position will perform work both indoors and outdoors throughout all Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) grounds and facilities.  The Labourer is responsible for performing general duties including, but not limited to: moving, setting-up and tearing down of equipment for various events, building event conversions, material maintenance and snow removal. This position supports the unit in an efficient and safe manner to meet conversions and event schedules. This position is a manual labour position that requires physically strenuous duties and is a very demanding job.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

  1. Perform various interior duties which includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Install/removal, setting up, arranging and removing decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders and scaffolding to prepare facilities for the various scheduled events.
  • Setting up of tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape.
  • Various asset repairs and maintenance i.e. tables, chairs, field cover, turf, etc.
  • Various office equipment moves i.e. desks, cabinets, etc.
  1. Perform various exterior duties, which includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Removing snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas using snow blowers, snow shovels, and snow melting chemicals.
  • Sweeping debris and shovel snow from streets and sidewalks.
  • Setup various outdoor events including barricade/security fencing, field protection cover outdoors.
  • Campus greenspace and landscaping maintenance
  1. Observing additional maintenance needs requiring attention and reporting as required, organizing/recording all work detail (work performed, service recommendations, etc.).
  2. Presenting services in a professional, respectful and positive manner at all times when interacting with internal and external customers.
  3. Responsible for equipment while on shift.; Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
