The Manager Fixed Assets & Maintenance manages and oversees delivery of repair and preventive maintenance work, develops and implements a proactive repair and maintenance management program; establishes, implements and ensures adherence to high quality facility maintenance service standards; plans, develops and manages the annual budget and forecasts; and adheres to expenditure controls.  This position is responsible for managing and implementing an effective and efficient preventative maintenance program to ensure the energy, utility and ammonia plants, facilities, equipment, tools and environmental services for all facilities and grounds to support the delivery of entertainment, trade, agribusiness, sporting, recreational, catering, food services, office administration, parking and storage.

This role works collaboratively to ensure that facility and equipment maintenance activities are planned on a proactive & predictive basis, maintain the highest quality of industry and safety standards and are performed on schedule and within budget.  This position is accountable and responsible for overseeing and directing the overall business unit team performance to ensure all fixed assets and maintenance on our campus effectively support and position REAL to deliver an exceptional, safe experience for all international, national and local community guests, tenants and staff.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This role leads, oversees and manages facility repair activities and preventative maintenance programs and services to support event, entertainment and recreational requirements by:

  • maintaining the mechanical, electrical, heating/cooling ammonia plant and control systems.
  • maintaining and updating the asset performance & preventative maintenance database systems and active monitoring of all reactionary and preventative maintenance work orders.
  • managing the installation, maintenance and the repair of all facilities, equipment/tools and electrical and mechanical systems.
  • working closely with customer service groups to identify specific time periods for performance of preventive maintenance to minimize disruption of normal operations yet schedule preventive maintenance work throughout the entire year.
  • As project & business needs require, will meet and work with consulting engineers to create facility modification designs, scopes of work, and RFP/RFQ documents for major or more significant facilities repair & maintenance events.

WHAT IT TAKES

Apply today if you meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with specialization in civil, mechanical, electrical or building systems engineering or Journey tradesperson certification (Red Seal) in electrical, millwright, HVAC technician, carpenter or plumber.
  • Senior power engineering certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in building maintenance operating and maintaining HVAC, electrical and refrigeration systems and boilers, with at least five (5) years’ experience managing or coordinating the work of others to achieve business outcomes.
  • Project management training, certification or relevant combination of education, training and experience would be an asset.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, complex environment with a high degree of organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience in a unionized environment would be preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.

Assistant Manager, Guest Experience & Ticket Operations

The Assistant Manager, Guest Experience & Ticket Operations is essential for managing all frontline guest experience requirements throughout REAL, including the box office, ushers, guest services, reception, and retail operations staff.  They are responsible for initiatives to support the achievement of REAL’s business goals and objectives and takes point on ticket configuration and event builds in the ticketing software system.  This role is accountable and responsible to act in a leadership capacity to ensure excellent service to all clients and guests, and is focused on supporting various Programming and day-to day teams to ensure all guests feel welcome and are treated in a friendly professional manner.  This role is also focused on assessing, understanding, and addressing immediate and mid-term guest needs at REAL’s facilities, so that everyone receives the highest level of service.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This role is responsible for:

  • Executing the front-line delivery plans, overseeing effective and efficient customer service outcomes for day-to-day operations as well as large ticketed events.  This includes the planning of work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties amongst all host/hostesses, guest services, box office, corporate reception, and retail operations.
  • Lead the day-to-day administration of event ticket builds in REAL’s ticketing software system. This may include but is not limited to event manifest setup, ongoing maintenance and assisting the Manager of Guest Experience with promoter relationships.
  • Ensures compliance and consistent adherence to service delivery policies and procedures and provide support/solutions to front line staff for day-to-day and event specific operations by managing pre- and post-event inspections of REAL’s public facing space
  • Collaborating with internal departments and committees to resolve all guest comments and concerns in a timely manner and demonstrate creativity in finding solutions that put the needs of the guest first
  • Continually review the guest journey and bring forward solutions to enhance the overall guest experience with supported research, understanding and direct feedback from our guests.

Labourer (Permanent Fulltime)

THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOU

Reporting to the Manager, Grounds and Conversions, this position will perform work both indoors and outdoors throughout all Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) grounds and facilities.  The Labourer is responsible for performing general duties including, but not limited to: moving, setting-up and tearing down of equipment for various events, building event conversions, material maintenance and snow removal. This position supports the unit in an efficient and safe manner to meet conversions and event schedules. This position is a manual labour position that requires physically strenuous duties and is a very demanding job.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

1. Perform various interior duties which includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Install/removal, setting up, arranging and removing decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders and scaffolding to prepare facilities for the various scheduled events.
  • Setting up of tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape.
  • Various asset repairs and maintenance i.e. tables, chairs, field cover, turf, etc.
  • Various office equipment moves i.e. desks, cabinets, etc.

2. Perform various exterior duties, which includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Removing snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas using snow blowers, snow shovels, and snow melting chemicals.
  • Sweeping debris and shovel snow from streets and sidewalks.
  • Setup various outdoor events including barricade/security fencing, field protection cover outdoors.
  • Campus greenspace and landscaping maintenance

3. Observing additional maintenance needs requiring attention and reporting as required, organizing/recording all work detail (work performed, service recommendations, etc.).

4. Responsible for equipment while on shift.

5. Presenting services in a professional, respectful and positive manner at all times when interacting with internal and external customers.

6. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to perform the physically strenuous and demanding tasks to fulfill all working conditions and physical demands.

  • Refrigeration Operator’s or Fireman’s Ticket is an asset.
  • Possession of a valid CPR & First Aid certification card is an asset.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
  • Note that this position is an in-scope position under the RWDSU Collective Agreement. Shift start & stop times may be adjusted during course of employment, based on operational requirements
